A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF OTTAWA, KANSAS FROM KANSAS STATUTES ANNOTATED 14-803, AND PROVIDING SUBSTITUTE PROVISIONS ON THE SAME SUBJECT RELATING TO THE POLICE COURT OF THE CITY OF OTTAWA, KANSAS.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY CF THE CITY OF OTTAWA, KANSAS:

Section 1.The City of Ottawa, Kansas by the power vested in it by Article 12, Section 4 of the Constitution of the State of Kansas hereby elects to make inapplicable to it and exempts itself from Kansas Statutes Annotated Section 14-803 which applies to said City but not uniformly to all cities and provides substitute provisions on the same subject as hereinafter provided.

Section 2.The Governing Body of the City of Ottawa, Kansas shall provide at the expense of the City a suitable room or office for the Police Judge and he shall hold his court in such room or such other place as may from time to time be designated by the Police Judge and the Police Court shall be open every Thursday morning at 7:30 A.M. and such other times as the Police Judge may from time to time designate.
