A CHARTER ORDINANCE PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 12 SECTION 5 OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF KANSAS EXEMPTING THE CITY OF OTTAWA, FRANKLIN COUNTY, KANSAS, FROM THE PROVISIONS OF K.S.A. 12-621 ON THE SUBJECT OF ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS TO FINANCE THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SEWAGE SYSTEM IN THE CITY OF OTTAWA AND PROVIDING SUBSTITUTE PROVISIONS ON THE SAME SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF OTTAWA, KANSAS:
Section 1. The City of Ottawa may operate and maintain disposal works for the purification of the sewage of the City, or of any part thereof. The costs and expenses of building the same shall be borne by the City as a whole, and may be paid out of the general revenue fund; or if the governing body determines, general obligation bonds of the City may be issued therefor in any sum for such purpose. Such bonds may be issued in addition to the limit of bonded indebted- ness applicable to the City of Ottawa.
Section 2. The City of Ottawa, Kansas, hereby exempts itself from the provisions of K.S.A. 12-621, an act not uniformly, applicable to all cities and substitutes the provisions of Section 1 above in place thereof.
